Day 6 - Feb 13 CNY Eve

Ahhh, the garbage collection ritual. And this is the collector that just loves me to bits. He likes to rip open the bags I throw in. Cheryl wanted to get a picture of our musical trucks.
Our friends Sam and Sabrina invited us to their house for Chinese New Years Eve.

Cacklefest Video Updates

At dinner on the 12th, Jevin stole the lemon off my plate. Auntie Max caught his reaction.

During the day on the 13th... Jevin sings his ABC's. Note his tongue during the "LMNOP" part.

Auntie Joan and Cheryl wanted a drink like mine. I wrote down how to say it in Chinese and sent them on their way. Knowing that they would likely encounter some difficulty, I followed with Auntie Max's camera. You probably won't hear any of the conversation, but just pay attention to the facial expressions of the server... and especially her reaction at the end.

Those of you reading this on facebook will not be able to see it... So instead go to the actual website to see them. http://taiwantremors.blogspot.com

Cacklefest - Day 5 - Feb 12

We had a lazy day. We relaxed and did our glasses orders. After we picked up the kids and all went to costco. Next we went to ponderosa for dinner and back home for an early night.

Cacklefest - Day 4 - Feb 11

Fire Meets Water
The water tiger and fire dragon had a disagreement and this is how they agreed to live.

This sign says, "I am afraid of my wife."
Auntie Max took this picture of a special lady.
Henry and Leanne were gracious enough to be our tour guides for the day on this trip. We went to some mud springs in Tainan and also Salt mountain.

There were also fishie feet eaters here.
Mudding up before the mud springs.

Salt Mountain... It looked a little brown..

Cacklefest - Day 3 - Feb 10

On Wednesday we all went to Ba-Gwa Mountain in Changhua.

And we fed the fishies.

The Cacklefest - Day 2 - Feb 9

On Tuesday morning, Gladys picked us up nice and early and took us to Goo-Gwan Hot Springs. Auntie Joan and Auntie Max road with Gladys and the rest of the crew was in our car.
Jason took this picture of us on the bridge... and then shook the whole thing just to hear us scream. lol
Then we made it to an area near the tourist center. We had a little sit down and relaxed as our feet were cleaned... BY FISH. As you can see, they just loved mom's feet.
After, we went to a really nice resort with the natural hot springs fed into a spa type swimming pool. Everyone really enjoyed the soak.
Finally, we went to a department store in Taichung. By the time this picture was taken, poor Jevin was just done for the night.

The Cacklefest - Day 1 - Feb 8th

They arrived in Taiwan at midnight and actually made it to our house in only 2 hours. I woke up at 2 am thinking I had an hour to spare. Suddenly DeeOgee started freaking out. I thought, no... It can't be. But in fact, it was.
After everyone woke up, we went to the salon for our $150 hair wash. She-Toe-Fa (hair wash) includes a back massage, head massage while they wash the hair, minty conditioner massage, facial massage and finally the back massage with minty cream... Oh, and they style the hair too. So I have to say... I pretty much think they were satisfied with their experience.
Above includes our hair goddesses.

Steven and Linda's Wedding

Our neighbor Steven (Mr. Wu's son) and his long time girlfriend, Linda, got married on Jan 10. I have been to quite a few weddings here, but I have to say this one was by far the best. All the neighbors gathered together and were included in every aspect. Josie was a flower girl. They rented a special dress for her. It is winter but after two weeks of rain, it was sunny that day. She sported her new scarf that day... just to warm her shoulders.
We waited for the happy couple to arrive home. I am not sure where they were coming from, but by tradition as they arrived fire crackers were set. Jevin FREAKED right out. He was so scared by the noise they made that it felt like he was having a seizure in my arms.... And since then, he has preferred to be held by daddy. I guess he still blames me for the noise.
After the traditional ceremony in their house, the lunch began. Steven and Linda had a few people on their invite list, but Mr. Wu had MANY so they actually rented out the gym of the elementary school.
Now, it is just a thing they do here... there are bags on the table... All the food that is not finished at the end of the meal is thrown into these bags and it is expected that the guests take the food home. We saw all our neighbors do that. We never take the food. It's just not our tradition.
Usually the party stops when the food is gone... but in fact this party went on all night. All the neighbors moved to the Wu's garage... and all the food they took that would traditionally go to their homes, was brought to the Wu's garage and all the neighbors had dinner together as well. It was such a great time. We all had such a wonderful time. This little community is so close. It is a wonderful place to live.

Think it might be about here... Someone was not happy that she had to hold hands with an unknown boy...

I think this is where the man in red appears... So the man in red tried to walk away with Jevin. I am sure his was harmless... but still. Jevin put a stop to that! Love the new "No" word.
And another picture in this area... There is a man in black. Cassie is holding Jevin and the man in black comes along and tries to have a drink with her. She insists that she has to drive and no thank you. He insists she drinks... spitting on her the whole time... Gotta love those drunk lips... Poor her, but she handled herself so gracefully.
