Jevin's School Day Jan 15

Jevin's school had a school day.  The first hour was a dance party with a group of PE instructors doing a bunch of activities.  The music was loud and Jevin was freaked right out.  Josie was totally into it.  We lost her in the crowd.  Jev decided to stick with... I mean to us.
After the dance party, they had a whole slew of activities.  They were given a passport of sorts. The kids went to the different stations, finished the activities and got the stamp.
 Jumping rope....
 Sticking to us...

 En garde!

Hair Cut January 1st

 Getting ready.

 Braiding the hair.

Josie donated her hair to children with cancer through the Changhua Christian Hospital.
She had been having tantrums about putting her hair in a ponytail in the mornings.  We gave her the option to cut it and explained that her hair was long enough that it could be donated.  She agreed with the idea so we continued.
Interestingly enough, if you google "Hair Donation in Taiwan" the first hit is the English webpage for the Christian Hospital.

Video Catch up

This is a video I took of Jevin while we were on a popular street in Taichung..> He just started dancing so I started taping... But apparently others were watching.  You can't hear the music in the background but that is what he was dancing to.  When he was finished, they all clapped for him.  That was when I realized others were also being entertained by my son.

This was the dance that Josie's grade did at school... By grade I mean all EIGHT grade one classes participated.  I got the last little snippet of the show.  One PE teacher sort of pulled me up to the front pushing through the crowd.  I was quite grateful.

And here is the last video...  We gave Jevin some popping candy... The video does no justice to his actual facial expressions... hahahah

This website is fed into Facebook, however videos do not come through, so if you are interested check out the real website for the videos.

Christmas Card Answer Key

First of all, we would like to apologize for the mistakes in the crossword.  We had some printing issues and were in such a hurry to get all the papers printed off that we forgot to double check the crossword.

12/11 Josie's Sports Day at Elementary School

Josie had a Sports Day at school on Dec. 11.   She had a great time.  They set up tents around the track.  Each class had a tent.  They brought out their chairs from their classrooms and sat watching the shows and races.  Josie's grade did a show and dance for everyone to see.  It was very enjoyable.

So, I knew her class was up... but I just could not find her.  Go figure... the only blond kid and I couldn't find her....  She's in the pictures here... It;s like "Where's Waldo" only it's with Josie... She is there.  I promise you.

 This is my friend Carey.

This was the show that her grade did.

And naturally... We attracted a lot of attention.  I am becoming so desensitized to it.... but my new strategy is... when they ask to take a picture, I simply defer them to the child in question.  "Ask her/him if it is okay."  Sometimes the kids agree and sometimes they don't.

Shanghai 12/5 Last Day

Before Church on Sunday, we had a little extra time.  Ron and Terry are in the choir so they had to do a little practicing before.
Since we had a half hour to spare, we took a little walk around.  Jason found a barber shop that had the traditional straight blade.  He got a shave for about $1 Canadian dollar. (35nt)
And ohhhhhhhhh, was he ever soft after.

Shanghai 12/4 Day Out

On Saturday Terry was so generous to keep the kids at the house while Ron took us to more markets.
After getting home I was tuckered out.  I stayed home while Ron took Jason out to see some preformers.  These guys were special... They are also people from Ron and Terry's church... and the people who were with Terry when that car ran over her foot.  They are so close with Ron and Terry that they refer to them and Mom and Dad.
Jason had a great time!

Shanghai 12/3 Christmas Day - A Little Earlly
