Shanghai 12/2 Ron & Terry's School

Ron & Terry work at Nanyang Model High School.  It is only about 10 minutes from their house.  The picture above is of the administration building.
We went up to see a class on the top floor.  When we looked over we could see courts and fields at the school.  Also, they have dorms to the right (and below).

At break time in the class....
Ron took Jevin in.  Jevin was a freaking super star... Josie was shy for some reason.

Shanghai 12/2 Out and About

Naturally, Josie has a keen eye for cats.... See the cat on the supermarket sign?
Well, that cat did some sort of acrobatic performance for us.  It was very entertaining to watch.
We just couldn't believe how high up that fluff ball got.
This was in a local bakery.
A Grand Piano
 Coffee Cups of Cake
 Candied Chinese Zodiac Characters
 Puff Pastry Pizza on Sticks
Then Josie posed with the bird creature thing.
 Oh and the maple trees.....
We made our way over to Ron & Terry's school.  On the way we passed so many Maple trees..

 The bedroom
Actually, Ron & Terry's room that they lent to us.  In the corner there is a little futon that Josie and Jevin slept on.

Shanghai 12/1 The First Christmas Gifts

It was supposed to be cold while we were there.  Ron & Terry bought the kids some awesome winter jackets complete with mitts and toques.
Oh.. and slippers... awesome slippers for each of us.

Shanghai 12/1 The Ride From the Airport to the House

Stuffed in like sardines.  The driver wanted us to put Jevin in the front.  No seat belts to speak of....
Oh... and the driving is much worse than Taiwan...

 Tired Jevin
Jason bought a fan from this man with no arms.  He uses his mouth to paint all his products.

This was a coffee shop in a little van.  Love their logo...hahahahha

Josie is in the Hospital

Josie has some sort of virus.  She has had a consistent fever for more than a week.  We took her to the doctor and got something for it.  It looked like it had gone away but then it came back full strength.  The school actually took her to the doctor as her fever had gotten so high that they felt waiting for us would take too long (and we are grateful for them doing that).  After that we took her to the big hospital as they can run tests.  A fever for more than a week was just too tricky to leave in fate's hands.  So this doctor ordered a slew of tests.  They weren't finished before his shift was over, so we were pushed down to the pediatric ER, which worked out better.  In the ER we were assigned to a doctor we have already had contact with on other visits.  The comfort and trust was already there. The tests were not wonderful but still good enough to let us take her home with meds.  That was until her fever kept staying super high and only the strongest fever meds would keep her fever below 39.5... and I mean at its lowest 39 ish.
Well, we went back to ER and they ran the tests again.  In just 12 hours her test results freaked out.  No one knows what it is.  They decided she would safest at the hospital where they could give her IV drugs.  Her fever reached 40.4 at its highest and stayed really high for a day or so.  They have changed the meds and she seems to be responding to them.  She is still getting fevers but not so high.  They have said that if she goes fever free for 24 to 36 hours, she can go home.  We are hoping for Saturday... but we will see.
From our hospital room we can see the Buddha.

Halloween Jevin

Jason worked long and hard on Jevin's face.  He arrived at school in his "cute" round baby skeleton mask that went with the outfit.  When he took off his mask, he got the reactions that we were hoping for.  hahaha... It was amusing.  He came home totally cleaned, too.

Military Class

This is what the students refer to as "Soldier Class."
Senior High School kids take the class.
I am not sure what all they learn, but it always interests me when target practice happens.

These two pictures are of the kids practicing for a marching competition.  I have some videos to go with it but it takes so long to upload them, I will see if I have any success when I finish all the other updates posts.

Stupid Smart Phone

So I am not so sure how appropriate it is to post this here... but this is the result of Jason's smart phone when he tried to find something on google maps by voice command.  We laughed so hard.  I can't remember what the place was but I do remember that it sounded nothing like the option it gave us.
